About Clay Cottage

Steve and Susie opened The Clay Cottage in 2000 combining their background in management, production and art.

The Clay Cottage is a contemporary art studio offering the community access to a variety of exciting arts. Even in our high tech 21st century all children love to paint and create. At The Clay Cottage children of all ages (especially big kids in their 30’s, 40’s and beyond!!) are encouraged to think outside the norm and express themselves through art.

All are welcome regardless of age or ability, the studio is wheelchair/pushchair friendly with bottle warming and nappy changing facilities and the kettle is always on!

Try us out for Ceramic Painting, Glass Decorating, T-Shirt Design, Watercolours, Drawing skills, Hand Building with Clay, Mini Modelling, Potters Wheel, Card design, and Servietten.

Our main activity is ceramic painting, Painting your own pottery is fun, relaxing and inspiring. With 1000,s of shapes including mugs, cups, plates and bowls the choice is endless. Some of our items are poured in our studio and others are imported from Tuscany in Italy.

Ceramics can be decorated in either our cool acrylics which can be taken away when finished. Or try out our great glazed range of colour.

Whichever way you choose you will be amazed at the process of turning your chosen plain white pieces into beautiful pottery to treasure or give as a gift.
